Friday Five

1. What troubles you?

The idea that I'm not doing enough to help others. Including the cat...

2. Do you like thunderstorms?

Love them.

3. Do you sleep easily or toss and turn?

Easily.

4. What do you offer a friend?

Loyalty, borrowing of stuff rights, laughs, snacks.

5. Friday fill-in:
Please don't ___.

Please don't lose my stuff.

Return of the Friday Five

1. Are you attracted to the naughty or the nice?

I assume this means in a lover? Both. I seem to go for the Crispy-chewy variety. Hard on the outside, soft in the middle. Is that the cookie or some other slogan? Google says it's the Tootsie Pop, which interestingly enough is what Lenita calls me. Hmmm....

2. Do you let your dirty laundry pile up?

No way! If I acquire more than 9 days worth, something is up. I like doing laundry. I've been letting it dry outside on a drying contraption for the past month or so. I like the energy conservation and fresh smell but I have been getting bug bites...

3. What's the last excuse you made?

I said couldn't do a homevisit massage. I forget the excuse. I think is had something to do with scheduling. But I changed my mind and gave my number out anyway.

4. Do you play it safe or do you take risks?

Safe! Safe! Safe! With the occasional, well thought out, small risk.

5. Friday fill-in:
Let's go to ____ and ____.

Let's go to Hanlan's Point and get Naked! Yeah! See you there!

So I went to explore the sounds of bad covers (see below).

I went on my bike and ended up doing the last 50 meters of the Becel Ride for Heart. Everyone was totally geared up and I was wearing a toque and flip flops, crossing the finish line to cheers and congrats. It was fun for a few minutes then I turned around and biked home.

Long time, no internet

Heeey! My computer is fixed AND I'm managing to steal some internet! Since February 20th...

- I've moved
- Lenita got her cast off
- My kitten was spayed
- Cut my hair once
- Had a birthday
- Bought a new phone

And that's about it. 71-ish days so 213 coffees? Wow, if I took my coffee black I'd probably lose 10 pounds.

It's a gorgeous Parkdale morning. The sun is behind a smoggy haze, which is excellent because the random wireless connection that I'm picking up is much stronger on the front porch and my screen too dark for morning sun. I can hear some kind of concert coming from Liberty Village or the Ex. It seems kinda early for that, maybe it's a sound check - might have to get on my bike and investigate. Currently a cover of "I want you to want me".

Still have this cold/cough. It's been since Monday night and I am getting tired of it. I can be coughing and sneezing and snarfling or I can take Advil Cold and Sinus and seem fine outwardly, but the brain stops working. I totally slowed down and gave myself time to get better but no dice. Could be worse.

Now it's "In the name of Love". A U2 cover. It sucks.

There goes the neighbourhood...

Wowsers. The Revue is looking a little rough.

And there was a SWAT team in our backyard last night...

Found

Of the things listed as lost...

My Rogue Wave t-shirt. I found it slipped down in my t-shirt drawer. I file my shirts in a stand on it's end kinda way, so only 1" X 6" of each shirt is showing. The Rogue Wave shirt was underneath, like a file that falls down between those hooky things in a filing cabinet.

My Bras! Yay! All of them are back and accounted for. One was in the bottom of my hockey bag and the other one showed up too.

Everything else is still on the lam.

In other news... looks like we have an apartment in the P-Dale. It's a big place on Spencer. 2 bedroom, 2 den, 2 balccony, eat-in kitchen, diningroom, livingroom, cool landlord (so far). Laundry but no parking so Ill be parking on the street, which is okay. It's quite nice. The nicest place Ive ever moved into. Should work well.

And a shout out to Robyn and Kelly. I am thinking about you and your families and trying to send healing/peaceful vibes. Let me know how I can help.

brrr!

It's finally cold, there's actually a sprinkling of snow. What a crazy year so far!

- Lenita broke her arm and I have been living with her and nursing her back to health.
- I'm moving April 1st. With Lenita and Kelly. Hoping for a great new place in the hood.
- Working like crazy.
- Went rollerskating and have horrible water blisters on the bottom of my feet.

And that's about it. I have been posting my friday fives, just not here. They're at http://killerfive.blogspot.com/

two post day!

I just had to post to say a few things that I keep forgetting to report/put out there.

First is that I have the most thoughtful girlfriend on the planet. She took me on a date on Friday night. She made sure that I put aside the time and teased me about how we were going to see The Rockettes. Hmmm...okay.

I know Lenita pretty well - she can be unpredictable. I was about 50% convinced that we were going to see The Rockettes. I should have known better. I did notice that her work calender had the Kate's Date or something written on it so I should have known that some serious thought had gone into it. Curious about where we went? Read on...

Lenita totally surprised me by taking me to Convocation Hall to see the Vinyl Cafe. How awesome is that? Is there any place I would have rather gone? No, there isn't. And she didn't even fall asleep. How could she when I was next to her shivering with excitement and laughing my head off? So exciting, so Christmasy, so sweet. I loved it.

The other thing I have been meaning to post is a list of lost things that you may have...

So over the past few years I have misplaced a number of things. Loaned out, left behind, whatever. So, if you know the where this stuff is, comment or give me a ring.

My Rogue Wave T-shirt.
Last seen in Grand Rapids, I think. I wore it down there and I can't remember seeing it since. It's blue-ish with grey and pink writing on it. It looks great on me and I miss it.

Size 13, Pink Aluminum kitting needles.
I have loaned these out to a few different people who were learning how to knit. I just don't remember who the last person was. They are my largest needles and make it possible to knit a scarf in a few hours. It would be great to have these back soon. I have some holiday knitting to speed through.

Two Nalgene bottles, 500ml, one pink, one green.
Ya, so the green one is plain and the pink one has stickers on it, (the stand-out sticker being from the NRA). I thought these were in my car and I was avoiding my car because I thought it might explode at any minute. Now my car is fixed and the water bottles aren't in there. Well, not in plain sight - I haven't scooped out the junk from under my seats yet. (A little scary in itself) There are 7 empty propane cylinders in the trunk though, if anyone is missing them.

Two Black Bras.
I only have three bras that I actually wear so if someone has hidden two of them, it's not very funny.

White Wool 3/4 length Winter Coat.
I can't remember where my coat is. Is it in Kalamazoo? Is it buried in the basement stuff? Did I give it away at a clothing swap? I don't know.

Friday Five

1) Sport Hunting, Right or Wrong?

While I myself have not yet chosen to hunt, I do not oppose the legislation that allows others to do so. I believe that hunting can be done responsibly and that it's a part of Canadian culture.

2) If you had to kill your own food to live, would you do it? Or become a vegetarian?

Whichever was tastier/I had time for.

3) Russian Roulette is also considered by some to be a sport. Should the "winners" be prosecuted by law for participating?

I really don't think anyone 'wins' there. I also don't think this happens very often. I wonder if it's worth the brain power to decide either way. Okay, I guess the winners should be prosecuted for any laws that they break in the process of 'playing'. Like being an accomplice to discharging a weapon within city limits or whatever.

4) Would you attend a public execution? What if it was televised, would you watch?

No, never. I do not believe in capital punishment under any circumstances. And I mean any, so don't even bother saying "but what about so-and-so?".

5) Would you report your spouse if they stole a large amount of cash? Depends on who from and the chances of being caught. It might be difficult to live with the guilt/stress involved.

Or murdered someone? Maybe.

In self-defense? Definitely. Why live on the lamb when she did nothing wrong?

Friday Five - Why Can't We Be Friends?

1) Which celebrity (or public figure) do you dislike the most?

Toughie. No one comes to mind immediately. I'm going to go with Fred Phelps, for obvious reasons.

2) Awful lot of racist remarks and clashes happening in Hollywood these days. Looks like they need a Morality Sheriff. You're pinning the star on:

Rosie O'Donnell. She has the respect of her peers and she doesn't take any shit. Watching her on the view is pretty awesome.

3) It seems that Politicians and Celebrities both are doling out their fair shares of stupid remarks. Who should be held more accoutable? The guy who Governs Hundreds of Thousands, or the guy who is Watched by Millions?

The government. People who are watched can be unwatched. It's more hurtful to the whole and more difficult to deal with stupid politicians.

4) Your best friend, saved your life, can't live without them, has just made a comment about ___________, and now you don't know if you guys can hang out anymore. Fill in the blank; what would it take to break that bond?

Poor single parents. Probably because they face a desperate struggle that I see all the time with my work.

5) Have you ever been accused of being a racist or bigot? Was it warranted (be honest)?

Ya, I was accused of being homophobic by my Canadian Law teacher in College, the first time around. (Because I complained about his teaching style and had also seen him at a gay bar.) Whatever.
